Doing all the things

Changing my word for the year in the middle of the year. You don't need to stick to a single word/ goal if it's not serving you anymore. 😌

I never thought I’d say this but I’m glad May was over. It was a busy time of family visits, birthday preparations, sickness, and overall stress.

But that is not to say that May didn’t teach me any lesson. If anything, I learned one of the most important lessons in life: to just breathe and calm down.

Despite the struggle to find time, energy, and motivation, here comes an update for the second part of May.

Coding

I was able to work through JavaScript Basic Algorithm Scripting and Object Oriented Programming. Now currently tackling with Functional Programming. I honestly didn’t think I’d say this but, in JavaScript, I think I like OOP more than Functional Programming. Functional Programming takes a lot of brain work for me. 😱

Writing

Unfortunately my previous update for the first half of May was very much delayed. But on the bright side, I have created a content calendar and a rough plan for this website. Fingers crossed, I’ll be happy as 🐝 in the next few weeks as I try to churn out useful content. 🤞

Yoga

I did yoga a total of 3 times in the second half of May, which was an improvement from the 2 times I did it during the first half. 😂 But not bad considering the craziness that was last month. The trick is just to keep going and keep moving no matter how slow.

Conclusion

During the beginning of this year, I was intent on using Progress as my word. I actually wrote the word “Progress” in my planner. But d the months went through, I realized what I really needed my word to be: DISCIPLINE. All this reading about Stoicism and emotional intelligence seems to hint at me towards cultivating some sense of discipline in my life. It’s also one of the reasons why I have started calendar blocking again. To do lists just don’t cut it unless you put your tasks on the calendar and allocate some time for them.
