“What do you display on the walls of your home — photos, posters, artwork, nothing? How do you choose what to display? What mood are you trying to create?”

If it were my way, I’d have minimal everything. Because we’re only renting space, we’re not technically allowed to post anything on our walls. But besides this, I also like that our walls our minimal when it comes to decorations.
I know there are lots of things out there that are nice to have. But material stuff are just not my thing. The only material things I value a lot would probably be my computer and phone — and that’s about it. Either way, I’m still grateful whenever people give me things/ gifts not because of the material benefit I get but because of the thought that they went beyond themselves to hand out something out of their own will. That’s a very gracious act for someone to do.
That being said, there are times when I feel like setting the mood for a particular room. But this doesn’t always relate to wall decors. More like scented candles and dinner cooking. And perhaps music playing.
Minimal is always the way to go for me, whether in my surroundings or with what I wear. I love how minimalist things are simple yet sophisticated. And I love how they take out the unnecessary stuff and replace them with one or two essential things instead.
Minimalism is also how I intend to cultivate with my lifestyle. Removing the non-essentials creates an aura of calm and simplicity. It gives way for the things that matter and are truly important for me.
