Having and Handling Multiple Goals

Where I talk about the future but remain in the present. Things will not be easy but it's the little choices we make everyday that will set the tone for the rest of the week and the rest of the month and the rest of the year. 😉

In addition to certain goals that I’ve set for myself this year, I’ve also decided I’m going to prepare to take the NCLEX.

What is the NCLEX? It’s a licensure exam to become a Registered Nurse in the United States.

I’ve already done a little bit of research on this about what to expect and the topics to be covered. It’s A LOT of information.

If I haven’t said it before, I am a Registered Nurse in my country, the Philippines. I’ve practiced nursing a couple of months before having a baby.

Given the minimum free time I have right now as a stay-at-home mom, I am naturally having doubts on whether I could make all of this work. The task is quite daunting, to say the least.

And I’m not dreaming about it like I’m going to finish everything within this year. I know it will take me a while, but I am focusing on the everyday tasks to achieve my end goals.

There’s a saying that says, The days are long but the years are short. Or something along those lines.

And I’m finally getting that.

Having a kid makes you get that sentiment oh-so-beautifully.

So I focus on what I can control: myself and the present moment.

Not the mountain of tasks I have to overcome or all the coding challenges I’m going to have to go through nor the vast amount of knowledge I’m going to start to re-acquire in the field of Nursing.

Just me and the present.

Things may not always be ideal. There will be days when I will feel out of sorts again. But I just need to remember WHY I’ve started this quest. Clarity is key to refusing to give up.

Now there are no guarantees, as I always say, that I will reach every goal and write off every task. I’m just doing what I can to get there. One at a time. Little by little. 💖
